Schol a r s o f the Song Dynasty achieve self - satisfaction and self-cultivation in withered plants, whereas later generations gradually lost part of that essence. Instead, they seek to trace withered plants through the way of Motuo and Yingtuo (ink rubbings).
The present artist three rolls of paintings in the fall of 2016, named as "Spring in Nature", "Cold Cloud Aside" and "Withered Plants". These titles are all borrowed from poems of the Song Dynasty with "Withered Plants" as the first of the series.
