Lot Essay

Although this kilim was produced by the same Yüncü nomads as the previous lot in the present sale, it differs in that it is larger in size, was woven in two panels, and introduces a third, sea-green colour within the central 'tree' and within the stepped stellar border motifs. See Yanni Petsolpolous, Kilim, Fribourg, 1979, pp.80-81, pl.93, for a comparable example.
