Lot Essay

Encompassing some of the most coveted features for a sports watch, a superb split seconds chronograph allied to a highly coveted black dial and stainless steel case of large proportions, the timepiece amazes through its overall condition and rarity.

Produced between the 1942 and 1944 with the Venus caliber 179, the Duograph model is part of the Breitling family of chronographs. Of high appeal, the present timepiece is a rare find at international auctions and distinguishes itself through its stainless steel case of almost 38 mm. in diameter and its rare black dial with Arabic numerals. In excellent overall condition, the timepiece can be considered as one of the most attractive Duograph’s to be offered at auction in recent times.

Reference 764 is illustrated in Breitling by Benno Richter, second edition, p. 110.
