The first English edition of Weber’s account of Russia under Peter the Great, along with descriptions of Russia by Lange and Le Brun. The maps of Russia and St Petersburg were re-engraved for the English edition, and the translator has included a guide to difficult Russian terms. In addition, the translator notes that he has removed material “unsuitable to the taste of an English reader” and inserted some excerpts from Weber’s original letters. Cox I, 193.
