The first edition. Davis served as Chief Officer under Shackleton on the Nimrod before captaining the Aurora on the Australasian Antarctic Expedition. This copy is bound in orange cloth, “presumably a secondary binding, attractive, and far scarcer than the primary one” (Rosove). Renard 422; Rosove 87.A1.b; Spence 354.
