The first edition of the history of Arctic Coal Company at Longyearbyen on Svalbard, unopened with dust jackets. Longyearbyen, today the northernmost human settlement with over 1000 residents, is named for John Munroe Longyear, who founded the Boston-based Arctic Coal Company in 1906. The mining operation was bought by Norwegian company Store Norske a decade later. Arctic Bib. 4042.
