The first American edition of Nansen’s history of Arctic exploration, with the rare original dust jackets. Stretching from antiquity to the eighteenth century, the jacket describes this set as “fascinating as a romance, valuable as history.” Arctic Bib. 11993.

Publisher’s original decorated blue cloth with original dust jacket (some chipping at the extremities to dust jackets, strengthened with paper and acetate). Provenance: Colin Bull (1928-2010, Arctic scientist and explorer).
