SUMNER, Charles (1811-1874). Speech of Hon. Charles Sumner, of Massachusetts, on the Cession of Russian America to the United States. Washington: Congressional Globe Office, 1867.
The first edition of Sen. Sumner’s speech supporting the acquisition of the Alaska territory, with the second edition of the map, often lacking. Sumner delivered this speech to the Senate to urge the ratification of the Treaty of Cession of Russian America to the United States.
