A pair of gilt-metal-mounted glass flasks
the bottles (glass broken) encased with gilt-metal, pierced and incised with foliate scrolls and dragons, centred by blue enamel ovals framed by cartouches to each side, the bronze covers modelled as cherubs riding elephant heads, on oval bases with rope-twist borders, one with rams' head winged beast handles to the sides, Austrian, 19th century, the covers possibly 18th century -- 22½in. (57cm.) high
