GRAHAM
W & J Graham’s was founded in Oporto in 1820 by two Scottish brothers, William and John Graham. The company quickly established a reputation for being one of the finest producers of Port and they invested heavily in their business, building a new lodge in 1890 in Vila Nova de Gaia in order to mature and store their ports. The lodge, located close to the Atlantic Ocean, with a maritime climate that is ideally suited to the maturing of Port, is still in use today. The Symington family purchased W & J Graham in 1970. Currently six members of the Symington family are involved in the management of the company and continue to drive innovations and improvements in many aspects of the business.
