THIS IS NOT AN EXIT/ESTO NO ES UNA SALIDA
Modern day marketing and boardroom wizards have deconstructed the labels around you and have imbued them fresh, new jargon so as to almost render them meaningless. The centralized theme of the release of the 2009 Syrah & Grenache release visited upon this concept of label meaning and useless vocabulary. Shampoo is no longer called shampoo, it’s Follicleanse Balm; the housekeeper is the Private Environmental Space Coordinator; a bartender is a Mixologist, you get the point.
The moment of artistic impression apparently centers on a visit from a local government building inspector and the “litany of recommendations, requests and mandates” for additional displays of EXIT and THIS IS NOT AN EXIT signage throughout Sine Qua Non’s original facility. This latter mandate just seemed a bit comical in that it was required to be displayed on anything that even vaguely could represent an exit, but was not one. Bureaucracy and over regulation at its finest example in a building that apparently has a clear entrance and exit. The humorous turn in the newsletter of is course what if everything were labeled what it was not. What then? This is not Syrah?
