Terrantez 1842
Recorked in 2015 by OP. Three part moulded bottle. New wax capsule. Bin soiled badly damaged label. Level into neck.
Tasting note: First tasted with JNV seal. Sweet a bit musty nose at first. Later on losing the musty touch and showing more aromas of overripe apricots, honey cake and Indian spices. Fairly elegant aromatic nose. On the taste more musty and showing a TCA fault. Intensely sweet of caramel sweets, ending with some concentrated acidity. Clearly not a long aged wine only just showing its character of grapefruit bitters with fine acidity on the finish. Good rather than great Terrantez. A year later presenting itself more refined, creamy nose of buttery charm and fine red grapefruit tones on the finish. An amazing complexity of taste. Very good Terrantez. 18. Consistent notes throughout 2016, very good wine. Last tasted January 2017. EV.
