Arabic manuscript on paper, 132ff. plus four fly-leaves, each folio with 9ll. of black naskh, gold and polychrome rosette markers, text within gold frame, catchwords, headings in white naskh within illuminated cartouches, opening folio with finely illuminated headpiece in gold and polychrome, the text with a number of hilyehs, calligraphs, diagrams and illustrations of Mecca and Medina, illuminated colophon signed and dated, in contemporaneous gilt and stamped brown morocco with flap, cobalt-blue paper doublures

This manuscript includes the 99 names of God, a selection of Qur’anic suras, Arabic prayers, various diagrams including the Seal of the Utterance of ”The Glory” (lafzat al-jalal), Seal of the Name of Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophecy of Muhammad, the hilyeh of the Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of Ja’far, the ’Ayn of ’Ali, the Haram in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the Banner of Praise (liwa’ al-hamd), the Standard (’alam) of Muhammad, the Standard of the Two Hasans, the Muhammadan Rose (gül-i muhammedi), further Arabic prayers and a Turkish prayer.
