of circular form, the centre modelled in relief with a classical figure attended by three hand maidens within an extensive landscape, the broad border decorated with masks, foliage and stylised shells, Elkington & Co., the design sculpted by Morel-Ladeuil 1876, the front and the reverse each engraved with a diamond patent registration mark, the reverse also engraved: "Design copyrighted in the United States November 1876" and with similar sentiments in French and German - 20¼in. (51.50cm.)
