Lot Essay

An impressive and highly coveted timepiece, the present Audemars Piguet is part of the celebrated Royal Oak Concept series. Participating in allying highly recognizable designs with innovative materials and complications, the timepiece was crafted in an advanced case with sandblasted titanium and a black ceramic bezel. With a strong and powerful identity, the wristwatch features a tourbillon of extreme precision and a dual-time indicator set through the crown. The property of an Important Private collector, the timepiece was rarely ever worn and is offered with an impressive array of accessories.

The Royal Oak collection was introduced in 1972, redefining the identity of a sports watch. With groundbreaking designs, the Royal Oak secured a discerning and informed audience and became throughout the years the emblem of the Audemars Piguet manufacture as well as a true icon within the watch community. Launched to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the collection, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept was considered a radical re-interpretation of the original designs of Gerald Genta. Allying dominant designs and groundbreaking materials, timepieces of the Royal Oak Concept collection became throughout the years amongst the most highly sought-after timepieces of the manufacture with an every expanding popularity.
