Lot Essay

Consigned by the original owner, the present watch is presented as new and unworn.

The Slyde watch was developed by HD3, the company of world-renowned watch designer Jorg Hysek Sr. and Fabrice Gonet. A fascinating digital interpretation of a traditional mechanical Swiss watch, by using the sapphire touchscreen, the wearer can generate an endless variety of “movements”. By tapping or sliding a finger on the screen a display is then selected from the range of modules, scrolling from an animated virtual mechanism in 3D to a digital module that can be configured to personal preferences. Each “movement” displays one of seven functions: the time, the date, world time-zones, a calendar, the moon phase, a chronograph and a countdown timer. Unveiled to critical acclaim, the SLYDE is regarded as aesthetically the most successful touchscreen timepiece so far manufactured.
