A PALE CELADON JADE 'BOY AND BUFFALO' GROUP
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The group is carved in the round as a recumbent buffalo with its head turned to the the left to face the boy at its side with one hand holding its horn and the other holding a leafy millet stalk. The details of the ridged horns, rope, and stalks are finely carved. The stone is of a pale even tone with russet veins.
