A RARE CELADON JADE TRIPOD EWER AND COVER
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The pear-shaped ewer is raised on three short tapering feet. The body is carved in relief with trailing branches of lotus. The handle and spout are carved with stylised scrolls and the domed cover is surmounted by a bud finial. The stone is of a celadon tone with brown and cloudy white inclusions.
