A BLACK AND WHITE JADE CARVING OF A GOLDFISH
LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The piece is delightfully carved in the round as a goldfish with bulging eyes and a fan-shaped tail swimming above a bed of various snails, clam shells, and cockles. The stone is of a creamy white tone with darker inclusions cleverly carved into the design.
2 in. (5 cm.) long
