Tasting note: October 2017 at the Domaine. Smokey aromas at first nose, expressive sweet, beetroot, balsamic, red grapefruit, quite concentrated with still some reserve. An intriguing multi layered nose, seductive and aromatic. Like a good looking well dressed lady with class that winks at you but keeps a distance.
More intensely sweet on the mid-palet, especially compared to the Bonnes-Mares 1970 which is more up-front sweet. Good intensity of red fruits with a fine acidity, fresh and very much alive. A lot of strength. Like an iron fist in a velvet grove. Very good wine!
Clearly a well aged wine that has slowly developed in the amazing natural cellars of the Domaine. Evidence of the hidden strength and ageability of a Musigny. E.V.
