When the knowledge behind names such as Hublot and Ferrari collaborate, it is destined to produce a force of power, engineering prowess, and dynamic design. With hundreds of events taking place since the beginning of their partnership, this collaboration has resulted in merging markets which are so familiar to each other.
The limited-edition ‘MP-05 LaFerrari,’ inspired by the car, is in an exceptional world of automotive and watchmaking industries combined. Representing a very special series, the Swiss-made watch is made entirely by Hublot but pays homage to the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer who produced one of the most recognizable race cars of all time.
In a limited edition of only 50 examples, the watch is incredibly rare, made in an extremely small number certainly influenced by the increased amount of time it takes to produce. It lives up to the Ferrari name with its powerful engine, the caliber HUB9005.H1.6, created in 637 parts, allowing for an impressive 50-day power reserve. The movement can be appreciated through three sapphire crystals on the case, featuring an aluminum cylinder fastened onto the suspended tourbillon cage, the cage with a diameter of 14.50mm. The hour and minute are displayed to the right of the barrels, also indicated by means of one anodized black aluminum cylinder each. One their left is the cylinder indicating the power reserve and to the bottom a horizontal seconds wheel.
Even the shape of the watch is based on the car, featuring a complex but organic shaped sapphire crystal which is reminiscent of the cars smooth and fluid outline. The black PVD case, which emanates a powerful aura itself, is topped by a titanium and carbon insert at its center, revealing the winding crown. Integral to the design, the winding crown is positioned under the case, achieving a seamless and harmonious design.
