circular box, the sides and base set with panels of opaque sky-blue enamel within white enamel frames, the base centred with an opaque white enamel circle with taille d’épargne gold foliage, the cover with yellow enamel foliate rim and set with a miniature depicting a classical scene, on ivory

Iver Buch was a Norwegian goldsmith working in Russia. His best-known work is a gold chalice of 1791 which was part of a liturgical set commissioned by Catherine the Great and presented by her to the Aleksandr Nevsky Monastery in St Petersburg on 29 August 1791.
