Third edition of this popular medical compendium, largely derived from Orlof von Baierland’s Arzneibuch, the earliest of such manuals written in German. The full-page woodcut originated with Anton Sorg and appeared in Schobsser’s 1490 edition of the Versehung. Only 17 copies held in institutions (ISTC). Chancery quarto (191 x 132mm). 159 leaves (of 160, with leaf f8 in facsimile) with the last blank, full-page woodcut frontispiece and initial coloured by a contemporary hand (some soiling and staining, marginal worm track in quire v, lower corner of h8 torn). Contemporary Augsburg blindstamped calf over wooden boards [Kyriss shop 84; EBDB w002075], title tooled on the upper board, two clasps (lightly restored). Provenance: contemporary manuscript annotations in German.
