Quarto (198 x 133mm). 6 full-page woodcut illustrations, with final blank (some toning and staining). Contemporary blindstamped half pigskin over wooden boards, a triskelion-type carving on upper board, manuscript labels on spine, traces of clasps (somewhat worn, corners chipped, 18th-/19th-century restorations). Provenance: ?Leipzig, Marcus Schreyer (‘artium baccalaureus liptzicus formatus’ inscription) – Peter Firtram (inscriptions dated 1564 and 1567) – ?Tübingen, Johannes Coriarius (inscription dated 1570), perhaps Johannes Mendlin (1505-1577), professor of logic and dialectic in Tübingen – Schweinfurt, Otto Schäfer (monogram stamp, bought in 1981).
