Little Girl showing Mother the Clown
Clown, a book without words by Quentin Blake, tells the story of a discarded toy clown who sets out to find a new home for himself and fellow friends, abandoned in the dustbin. Here, he is rescued by a little girl, only for her endeavours to be thwarted by her mother, who is repelled by the sad, unwanted little toy.
