Lot Essay

The Virtutum vitiorumque exempla, which Scholderer called a "Christian imitation of Valerius Maximus", was published with varying titles and in slightly different recensions, one of which was falsely ascribed to Bonaventura. This edition is recension B, without a preface and with a slightly shortened text (see V. Scholderer, "The Vitiorumque Exempla of Nicolaus Hanapus", Gutenberg-Jahrbuch 1936, pp. 61-2).
