A GREYISH-WHITE AND RUSSET JADE 'DRAGON' VASE AND COVER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The high-shouldered vase of oval section is carved in high relief with a front-facing scaly dragon reaching for a flaming pearl on one side and with three bats amidst scrolling clouds on the reverse, all above crashing waves carved on the base. The cover is carved with two further bats and a rope-twist-form finial. The stone is of pale greyish-white color with some black speckling and areas of pale russet color.
