A WHITE JADE 'DRAGON-CARP' PLAQUE
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The plaque is carved on both sides as a dragon/carp shown in profile, with a fin positioned below the rolled snout, C-scrolls on the body and tail, and a tail that ends at either tip in the head of a small bird, one tip supporting a small, pierced flower-head roundel. The semi-translucent stone is of even white color.
