A WHITE AND PALE RUSSET JADE 'BITTER MELON' PENDANT
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The pendant is carved as two bitter melons borne on a leafy, gnarled vine with trailing tendrils, and with a butterfly on one side. The semi-translucent stone has an area of very pale russet color at the bottom on one side.
2 1/8 in. (5.5 cm.) high
