A SMALL FACETED OPAQUE BLUE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
IMPERIAL GLASSWORKS, BEIJING, 1720-1800
The bottle of even blue color seeming to imitate lapis lazuli, is carved on either side with four facets surrounded by smaller facets. The narrow sides are also faceted and the flat base is of hexagonal shape.
1 ¾ in. (4.4 cm.) high, tourmaline stopper

This is a rare color for imperial glass snuff bottles and is one of the earlier examples of faceted bottles, also made more unique by its ovoid form.
