Each curved and carved crestrail is supported on an openwork backsplat, one carved with a bat above a basket of peaches flanked by ruyi scepters, the other with a bat suspending two peaches between dragons, and similarly carved arms, all above the hardwood seat. The whole is supported on a plain apron and square-form legs, terminating in scroll-form feet and joined by low stretchers.
