Comprising a clock and a pair of ten-light candelabra; the clock held aloft by two classical maidens with figures at their feet, raised on a shaped base centered by a musical trophy, the dial marked 'LEMERLE-CHARPENTIER & CIE./Bronzier/PARIS/8, Rue Charlot', the works marked 'LEMERLE CHARPENTIER Fant DE BRONZES/3/PARIS', the urn-form candelabra each with two handles and raised on a circular base
The clock: 34 in. (86.5 cm.) high, 20 ¾ in. (53 cm.) wide, 9 ¼ in. (23.5 cm.) deep
The candelabra: 36 in. (91.5 cm.) high

Charpentier & Cie was located at 8, Rue Charlot, Paris in 1860, and was later known as Lemerle-Charpentier & Cie circa 1870 to 1890. They exhibited mantel clocks, garnitures, torchères and vases at the Expositon universelle of 1878 in Paris as well as the impressive example of Piat's grande horloge.
