Léon Dromard, an obscure but accomplished ébéniste of the Second Empire, specialized in furnishings mounted with sculptural Chinese coromandel panels. Upon the closing of his workshop in 1889, a sale of his atelier took place, at which over a dozen pieces were described in the 'Chinese style' (C. Payne, Paris Furniture: The Luxury Market of the 19th Century, 2018, p. 327).
