A HARDSTONE-INSET GILT-BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF TARA
15TH CENTURY
The deity is cast seated in lalitasana on a double lotus base, wearing an elaborate headdress with lotus flowers beside her shoulders. The right foot rests on a lotus spray, while the right hand is in varada mudra and the left hand in vitarka mudra. There is a serene expression to her face, with downcast eyes.
