The hinged baize-lined top with candle stands and counter-wells to each corner above a conforming frieze and cabriole legs headed by lion masks and acanthus, and with hairy paw feet, the hinges stamped 'H. TIBATS', the top formerly with a gateleg base, the frieze rails and legs associated

A similar games table with lions mask-headed legs and virtually identical acanthus leaves, however with square breakout corners, was sold Sotheby's, London, 16 November 1984, lot 79 (£6,600, including premium). Another exceptional example, formerly in the collection of Percival D. Griffiths and Geoffrey Blackwell, also with lions mask headed legs, was sold from the collection of Theodore and Ruth Baum, Sotheby's, New York, 22 October 2004, lot 419 ($176,000 including premium).
