Second and last incunable edition of the Gospel exegesis which was first published in Venice in 1476. A wide-margined copy in a contemporary German binding. This example wants the Concordantia in passionem dominicam by Nicolaus de Dinkelsbuel (c.1360-1433) which is occasionally found separately, but properly makes up the final 4 quires of this edition. Chancery folio (300 x 202mm). 349 leaves (of 385, wanting the Concordantia), with both blanks, initials in red, rubricated, several smaller sheets with deckle edges. Contemporary South West German blindstamped pigskin [EBDB w003660] over wooden boards, titled in manuscript on vellum labels to spine and upper cover (slightly darkened, lacking clasps, hinges starting at foot of spine). Provenance: contemporary marginal annotations – Freiburg im Breisgau, Franciscan convent (1648 inscription) – M.H. Bloxam, by whom given to Rugby School Library; inscription dated 1856. Bookplate of Rugby School Library.
