Works from Mr Yeh’s collection have been offered by Christie’s Hong Kong in the sales of 2017 Autumn and 2018 Spring seasons and achieved highly acclaimed results. A veteran collector, Mr Yeh Chie Chung (1948-2008) started his collecting journey in the 1970s, building an impressive collection of Chinese classical and modern paintings. He immersed himself in various fields of research, specialising in calligraphy. Important works from Mr. Yeh’s collection have been loaned to the National Museum of History in Taipei and National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (formerly known as Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung). A man of bold and generous character held in high esteem by his fellow collectors, Mr Yeh was one of the founding members of the Ching Wan Society in Taipei, one of the world’s renowned associations of Chinese collectors.Twenty-six lots of Chinese classical paintings and calligraphy from Mr Yeh’s collection will be offered in this sale, plus another 17 lots (1201-1217) of modern works to be auctioned in our Fine Chinese Modern Paintings sale on 26 November 2018.
