Lot Essay

In April 1970, the Omega Speedmaster rescued the Apollo 13 mission from a potential disaster, earning Omega the "Snoopy Award", the highest distinction awarded by the NASA astronauts. The "Snoopy Award" is named after the Apollo 10 crew's lunar module also called "Snoopy". Today, the silver Snoopy is still presented to individuals and companies for outstanding contributions to human space flight.

The present watch is number 1821 of the limited edition of 1970 examples released in 2015. It is preserved in like new condition and sold with the full set of accessories.
