Décoratrice charismatique et empreinte de glamour, Francoise de Pfyffer a eu une carrière prestigieuse s'étalant sur trois décennies, d'abord en tant que marchand d'art contemporain, puis comme décoratrice. Elle s’était installée a Genève, mais travaillait partout en Europe et aux Etats-Unis, et son style moderne caractéristique et sa connaissance de l'art contemporain lui valurent un franc succès auprès d'une clientèle internationale sophistiquée. Parallèle, la galerie qu'elle ouvrit en 1975, représentait divers artistes de talent, notamment Hockney, Bacon et César. C’est Heinz Berggruen, marchand d’art de renommée internationale et collectionneur reconnu, qui fut l’un de ses grands alliés au cours de cette période initiale. Elle décora d’ailleurs son appartement a Genève et sa maison à Gstaad.
En tant que collectionneuse, Francoise de Pfyffer a effectué de nombreuses acquisitions a la Galerie Bonnier, a Lausanne et a Genève, sous la direction de son grand ami Jan Runnqvist. La sélection suivante, issue de sa collection, est un vibrant hommage à son amour pour Yves Klein et Lucio Fontana. En tant qu'ami proche de Rotraut Klein, elle avait en effet réussi à rassembler notamment ces trois éditions emblématiques qui ont enrichi son intérieur.
A charismatic and glamorous decorator and designer, Françoise de Pfyffer had a prestigious career spanning three decades, first as a contemporary art dealer and then as a decorator. She used to be based in Geneva but working throughout Europe and the Americas and her characteristic modern style and knowledge of contemporary art gained her much acclaim among a sophisticated international clientel. Parallele, the gallery she opened in 1975, represented various talented artists including Hockney, Bacon and César. One of his great allies in this initial period was Heinz Berggruen (D. 2007), the internationally renowed art dealer and collector, whose apartment in Geneva and house in Gstaad she decorated. As a collector, Françoise de Pfyffer did many acquisition at Galerie Bonnier,
first in Lausanne and the in Geneva, which was managed by her great friend Jan Runnqvist. The following selection coming from her late collection is a vibrant homage to her love for Yves Klein and Lucio Fontana. As a close friend of Rotraut Klein, she managed to gather these three iconic editions which enhanced her own interior.
