Cette paire de fauteuils est à rapprocher d'un ensemble mobilier exécuté pour un certain nombre de palais napolitains à la fin du XVIIIème siècle, pour les membres de la cour de Ferdinand IV et Marie-Caroline de Bourbon. Les bras joliment sculptés se terminant en colombes, leur mouvement et la dorure nuancée font écho au mobilier du cabinet de toilette de la reine Marie Caroline au palais de Caserta.
