Lot Essay

Born in Anhui province, Tai Jingnong was a renowned author and literary critic who sought new ways to reinvigorate China through the study of classical history and culture. He had taught at several important universities in China and eventually became the chairman of the Department of Chinese Literature at National Taiwan University. In addition to being an accomplished painter, Tai Jingnong was also a famous calligrapher who devoted himself to the study of old paintings and calligraphy
