Ce reliquaire de l’ancienne collection MrCarty-Cooper peut être comparé à celui de la collection du British Museum, dans Chaffin A. & F., L'art Kota, les figures de reliquaire, Meudon, 1979, p. 123, n° 41. Selon les auteurs, ce reliquaire appartient au groupe 6 qui, "constitue sans aucun doute l'un des plus beaux de l'art Kota" (p. 112). Ils sont particulièrement anciens, en témoignent la patine du bois, les revêtements métalliques et surtout le style archaïque.
