A WHITE JADE 'RAM' PENDANT PLAQUE
18TH CENTURY
The plaque is carved to one side with a recumbent ram amongst lingzhi fungus below the moon behind clouds. The panel is surmounted by ruyi-heads and clouds. The reverse is inscribed with the four-characters 'san yang kai tai' in seal script, which may be translated as 'the new year brings prosperity'.
