Jean Grivot, Richebourg 2007
Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits
Tasting note: A well-layered nose offers up a variety of spice and herbal tea notes, including anise, clove, cinnamon and soy on the mostly red berry fruit aromas that display only a hint of secondary character. There is a lovely sense of purity to the sleekly muscled flavors that possess real drive, indeed this does a slow but sure build from the mid-palate on through the explosive and tangy finish. This is not particularly dense but it is a wine of harmony, balance, power and fine length. Moreover to my taste it is still very much on the way up and thus while it could be enjoyed now, I would counsel at least some additional patience. Tasted twice since 2015 with consistent results. 92p Burghound January 2017
