Vosne-Romanée
This is the original Gros Domaine which was split up in 1995 after Jean retired. The Richebourg is mostly old vines planted in the 1930s.

Bin-soiled labels. Excellent levels
Tasting note: A very ripe though not stewed nose offers lovely spice, game and earth aromas that continue onto the big, rich and robust flavors that display ample muscle on the velvety and sweet finish underpinned by still firm but buried tannins. There is the barest trace of backend greenness though not enough to really detract from the overall sense of balance though it does prevent this from ascending to the ranks of sublime. The ’90 Richebourg will easily drink well over the next two decades. 93p Burghound November 2006
