Armand Rousseau, Chambertin Clos de Bèze 1995
Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits
Tasting note: (opened from personal storage). Superbly spiced and now mostly secondary aromas explode from the glass and lead to wonderfully concentrated flavors of impressive depth and excellent balance for such a big, structured and powerful wine. The length though is what separates this wine from most '95s it just goes on and on. As to drinkability, the nose is now all but fully mature though there is some of the typical '95 style structure on the backend and thus this will hold for another 30+ years. For my taste this is knocking on the door of its peak drinkability though another 2 to 3 years of cellar time will help to round the edges off of the supporting structure. 94p. Burghound October 2014
