These sculptural groups are inspired by the works of Giambologna (1529-1608). The first is after his Rape of the Sabines from the Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence. They are in the style of works created by the Neapolitan silversmiths Eugenio and Luigi Avolio in the 20th century.
