TWO GEORGE III PAINTED BERGERES
CIRCA 1800
One green and white painted with caned back and seat with squab cushion covered in pink cotton, the other with floral decorated brown-painted frame, covered in glazed chintz, piped to match the first chair, the decoration to both chairs refreshed
The larger chair: 37 in. (94 cm.) high; 27 ½ in. (70 cm.) wide; 29 ½ in. (74 cm.) deep
Provenance
Almost certainly supplied by John Fowler as part of an interior scheme for Joan Dennis in 1954,
from whom acquired in situ by Mr and Mrs Heinz circa 1955.
