A leaf from Shakespeare’s First Folio, “incomparably the most important work in the English language” (Pforzheimer). This leaf contains the end of Act 3 and beginning of Act 4 of The Taming of the Shrew, a beloved comedy which has inspired many imitations and updates—from musicals to modern films. Folio leaf (316 x 203mm). pp. 223-223. (Upper corner repaired with woodcut border replaced in facsimile, sunfading from previous framing).
