Lot Essay

David Webb began producing his repoussé animal cuffs in 1968; that autumn within a four-week period Webb had designed and created the double fish, horse, snake, double lion, ram and leopard cuffs. It was not until a year after the designer's death in 1976 that further motifs were introduced to the collection including the armadillo and alligator.
